Iniciou seus estudos musicas em 1995, na Escola de Música Ponte de Sor-Portugal. Inicialmente teve aulas com o maestro Luis Vélez Bonito de teoria musical, solfejo e de clarinete e saxofone alto. Em 1996 passou ater aulas de iniciação ao violão com o Professor Samuel Pereira. No ano de 1999, já no Brasil, começou a ser orientado pelo professor Marcos Cavalcante e aos 17 anos ingressou no curso de Música Popular da Unicamp. André tem trabalhado na área de ensino desde que tinha 16 anos, ministrou vários workshops no meio cristão nas cidades de Campinas, Curitiba, Americana e Campo Grande.
